After seeing creators struggle to find and book spaces, entrepreneur Khayat Chakerverty launched Spare Space, a startup aiming to make hourly venue rentals as seamless as booking a stay online

For many creators, the hardest part of a project isn't the shoot itself, it's finding a place to make it happen.

Photographers hop between Instagram pages, podcasters spend hours making calls, and workshop organizers often rely on word-of-mouth recommendations to secure a venue. Despite the rise of the creator economy, booking a studio or an event space remains surprisingly old-school.

That pain point is what led entrepreneur Khayat Chakerverty to start Spare Space, a platform designed to simplify the process of discovering and booking creative spaces by the hour.

The idea didn't emerge from a boardroom presentation. It came from personal experience. Having worked closely with creators and hosted properties on Airbnb, Chakerverty realized that while spaces were available, accessing them was unnecessarily complicated. The problem wasn't a lack of supply it was a lack of organization.

Spare Space aims to bring everything under one roof. Whether it's a photography studio, a workshop venue, a podcast room or a rehearsal space, users can browse options, compare prices and book them without endless calls or negotiations.

For hosts, the platform offers a way to turn underutilized properties into income-generating assets. For creators, it removes one of the biggest headaches in the production process.

The startup is currently focused on Delhi NCR, but its vision extends much further.

As India's creator economy continues to grow, so will the demand for flexible, on-demand infrastructure. And if Spare Space succeeds, creators may spend less time searching for venues and more time creating.
